MBA & JD Dual Degree Program

The Dual Degree Program allows students to earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Belk College of Business at UNC Charlotte and a Juris Doctor (JD) from the Charlotte School of Law in eight semesters of study.  Full-time students spend the first full year of study at either UNC Charlotte or the Charlotte School of Law. They will then spend their entire second or third year at the other institution. For the remainder of the program, students will take classes at both UNC Charlotte and the Charlotte School of Law.  Each school will grant nine (9) units of credit for courses taken at the other school.

Admission

Prospective dual-degree program students must apply separately to both UNC Charlotte and the Charlotte School of Law. Students can begin the program at either UNC Charlotte or the Charlotte School of Law. The Charlotte School of Law admits students in both the fall and spring and has a rolling admission process. Students must complete the prerequisites required by UNC Charlotte prior to beginning their MBA studies.

Please check the admissions requirements for both institutions: UNC Charlotte MBA | Charlotte School of Law.

Once a student is enrolled in the UNC Charlotte MBA program, the student must be continuously enrolled in that program. Continuous enrollment is defined as enrolling in at least one course in either the spring or fall semester of each academic year. Enrollment in summer courses does not satisfy the continuous enrollment requirement.
